I moved from the tropics to a location with snowy winters four years ago. My first winter was pretty unbearable and I suffered from depression. For the the following winter, I researched light therapy. At the time, this light seemed like the best deal. Now it is much more affordable than when I bought it. I have used the light every winter season, starting in late September or early October through spring. I basically start using it when the day's get shorter and stop once they are longer again. I use it for about 30 minutes every morning around 6:30 a.m. for half an hour while I get ready for work. I never noticed any strange smell from the ionizer like other reviewers have mentioned, but my light is probably not from the same batch. The unit I have has worked great for three seasons now. Once one of the lights went out, but it was just loose, so I was able to open the unit and put the light back in it's place and it worked fine again. I recommend it for anyone who gets the winter blues.

I was late for work today because I overslept, and I can't tell you how happy that made me.
For years now I have awoken earlier and earlier, until in the last few months I've been waking up at 1:30, unable to return to sleep. I would drag myself through the day constantly nodding off. The lack of sleep at night and the lack of concentration during the day was killing me. Then I read an article a few days ago about "Terminal Insomnia" and it fit my symptoms exactly. They also spoke of success with light therapy.
I ordered this lamp with two day shipping but Amazon had it to me the very next day. I used it for 2 hours in the evening, and that night I actually slept until 4:00 AM for the first time in months. After 3 days of light therapy I slept almost 8 hours last night and I feel like a new person.
The SunTouch lamp works perfectly and, although I wasn't eager to spend $100 on a lamp, it is worth every penny.

I bought this light for my adult son. It worked only a day or two. The company e-mailed me back to state that I can return it for a refund or a new light. It turns out the company is in UK, but the return address is Calif....so I am in the process of trying to figure out where to send it.
